Jim Moody was born and raised in Delaware. After the military, he came back home to find a way to make a living that didn't require him to compromise on how he treated people. Roofing was the answer.
The roofing industry has a reputation, and not always a good one — high-pressure quotes, fake-high "today only" discounts, kitchen-table closers who won't leave your living room until they've signed a contract. Jim knew that wasn't going to be Diamond State.
He started in 2013 with one truck, a small crew, and a simple operating model: keep overhead low so you can pass the savings to the customer, give one honest written estimate, and stand behind every roof. No commissioned salespeople. No upsell games. No big company markup.
Thirteen years and 500+ roofs later, that's still the company. Jim still answers the phone himself. Jim still walks every roof before a quote goes out. And Jim still trains every crew member the same way the military trained him — show up, do the work, leave the place better than you found it.
